Darcey Bussell
In a career spanning more than 30 years, Darcey Bussell achieved legendary status in the dance world. Having trained at the famed Royal Ballet School in London, Darcey became the youngest British principal dancer at The Royal Ballet in 1989, where she remained her whole career. She was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2006, and danced her final ballet, MacMillan's Song of the Earth, in June of 2007. She holds many patronages including being President of The Royal Academy of Dance and International patron of the Sydney Dance Company. She has honorary doctorates from Oxford University and the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow, presents The Royal Ballet's live cinema broadcasts and she is currently a judge on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing amongst her many activities.
