Ruth creates her illustrations in collage entirely by hand; painting, cutting and layering paper to make bright and playful images. In 2018, Ruth's debut author-illustrator picture book Not So Scary Bear was published by Windy Hollow Books, followed by Not So Quiet Mouse in August 2019. Ruth's first picture book with Little Hare There's a Tiger Out There was published July 2019, and her second Little Hare title Love From Australia will be released June 2020.

Ruth was shortlisted for the World Illustration Award 2019, children's book category.
