Bendigo Writers Festival presents Bookmark at Balgownie: Matthew Evans in conversation.
Chef, farmer, writer and presenter Matthew Evans has created six series of the unique SBS tv series, Gourmet Farmer, about growing, cooking and eating superbly nutritious, excellent-tasting food. His lavish new book, The Commons, A Year of Growing, Cooking and Eating on Fat Pig Farm, is part-diary, part-memoir, part-cookbook and a whole lot of wisdom and warmth from one of Australia’s most influential chefs. Matthew Evans shares his passion for sustainable farming, delicious food and a life brimful of goodness, against the abundant backdrop of beautiful Balgownie Estate. This will be a conversation about cider and cream, about pigs and soil, and about feasting well, with joyous enthusiasm.
Doors open from 4.30pm, and tastings of wine and hors d’oeuvres will be on sale for a pre-event treat. Matthews' book will be available for purchase.
